Support teams through anxiety. Change the conversation to lead through uncertainty.

High-performing teams are not defined by talent alone. They are shaped by shared purpose, clear expectations, healthy team habits and the ability to work through pressure, complexity and change in a constructive way.

When these foundations are missing, even experienced teams can lose momentum. Communication can become unclear, accountability can weaken and team energy can be consumed by friction rather than focused on performance.

60% of teams fail. A key reason is lack of development.

MODAL’s High-Performing Teams program is designed to help teams strengthen the conditions that enable sustained performance. It supports teams to build stronger alignment, deeper trust, better communication and more effective ways of working together.

Using practical, contemporary team development principles, this program helps teams understand what high performance looks like in their environment and what needs to shift to achieve it. The focus is not just on how teams feel, but on how they function, how they make decisions and how they deliver outcomes together.

Foundations, fronting and function.

The three ingredients in an effective team-development approach.

The learning and progression through these phases often require multiple sessions with reinforcement, coaching, and definitely testing and application back in the workplace.

Through improved team Emotional Intelligence (EI), clarity of purpose and goals, team alignment of activities, organisations have the opportunity to build true, high- performing teams that can not only deliver their individual goals but can also integrate effectively with other teams to collectively value- add in their endeavours to achieving organisational goals.

What They Say About Us

We’ve been really pleased with our experience with MODAL – their consultants are highly capable professionals who seek to understand their client’s needs then design and facilitate the process required to successfully meet those needs.

Our organisation has been focused on developing a “one team” culture and have seen real value in partnering with MODAL on this, especially with the work they have done with the Executive Team as we move towards High Performance. What I have liked about their approach has been the ability to engage all members of the Executive team. In doing so the trust, cooperation and performance of the team has grown rapidly.

CCF WA has enjoyed a long and successful partnership with MODAL in delivering mentoring programs that support women working in the civil construction industry. MODAL's mentoring program has had a meaningful impact on both mentees and mentors. Mentees have developed greater confidence, leadership capability, communication skills, and the resilience needed to progress their careers within the civil construction industry. Mentors have strengthened their own leadership and coaching skills while contributing to the development of future industry leaders.

Got a question? We will answer it.

Everything you need to know before enrolling in our courses.

We start by measuring where your team is, using MODAL’s High Performing Teams assessment, then work through what the results show. Sessions cover purpose and priorities, how the team handles disagreement, and what accountability looks like between them. Most of the work is the team talking to each other, with us shaping it.

A team building day is an event. This is development work tied to how your team operates week to week, and it’s measured at the start and again later so you can see what moved. We’re working on the things that slow a team down, not running activities.

The intact team, including the leader. Sending individuals away separately doesn’t work, because new habits only hold if everyone was there when they were agreed. Most of our work is with executive, leadership and project teams in organisations of 200 to 2,000 staff.

Longer than a workshop. The team needs time between sessions to apply things at work, so most engagements run across several months with coaching for individual leaders in between.

Teams that get on well can still avoid the hard conversations. Politeness and trust aren’t the same thing, and a team that never disagrees usually isn’t testing its own decisions. The assessment tends to surface that quickly.
